I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Idaho and have been a licensed counselor since 2007.
My approach to counseling is strength-based, which means that rather than dwelling on things that are wrong, we will focus on the strengths that you have, and how you can use those strengths to overcome your obstacles. I believe that everyone has a wide range of useful skills, but sometimes our skills can become over-developed or under-developed, and this is the cause of most of the problems we experience. Whether a skill is overused, or not used enough, the key to improving the problem is to learn how to use our skills more effectively and efficiently.
I provide individual counseling to adults, teens, and to children 10 years old and older. I also provide counseling to couples and families. I use a person-centered approach to fully understand what my clients are experiencing and use additional counseling approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology to assist them in discovering healthier amd more positive ways to think about a problem.
I take most insurances and can provide a sliding fee scale for those without insurance. One of the most important predictors for a successful counseling experience is to find a counselor who is the right fit for you. I can provide a free 30 minute consultation if you would like to meet with me to see if we are a good fit.
